Fabric is Microsoft's unified analytics platform, delivered as a service. Instead of assembling separate services for ingestion, storage, transformation and reporting, every workload runs on one tenant, one capacity model and one storage layer — OneLake, in open Delta Parquet, with shortcuts that reference data where it already lives instead of copying it.
Every workload writes to the same OneLake, so governance and Copilot apply once instead of per tool. We add dbt as the transformation layer where SQL is the team's language, and Spark notebooks where it is not.
What clean, contextual and controlled data means in practice, why bigger models do not fix messy data, and how the three properties map onto Fabric.
